Missed antibiotic? now?

for my acnes, my doctor prescribed me a anti-biotic in this way, - 3 times a week, have to continue it for 8 weeks. after completing 4 weeks, in the 5th week, i missed one days......(i made routin to take it at thursday, friday and satday)...i missed, thursday one..but, i took in exact time at friday and also at satday.when should i take the 3 rd one, which i missed on friday? should i take it on sunday? if i take it at sunday, what will happen next week? next week, will i take thursday, friday, satday aagin or i will start taking according to the new routin, friday, satday and sunday?

i missed one..should that mean, i broke the whole cycle? wont the medicine be affective any more?
Answer:
"3 times a week" does NOT mean "Thursday, Friday, and Saturday." That should be more like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Something like that.

When you take an antibiotic several times a day, you want to space it out, like "every 8 hours," or "every 12 hours," whatever is ordered. The same principle applies to "3 times a week."

And that way, if you "miss one day" you have room to scoot it in, that one time, the "next" day.
take it sunday. it won't break the cycle,
and also shouldn't you be taking antibiotics so that you have an even amount in your system - ie evenly spaced over the week.
you should be taking one on sunday, tuesday and friday. unless you have been told otherwise by your doctor.
when it comes to antibiotics it's very essential not to miss any dose or make up for the ones you missed, just complete the prescription given by your doctor.
i dont think it was a big deal if you missed a dose.. but if i understand correctly from what you wrote you kept on missing a dose to make even for the one you missed.. that doesnt sound right.. but either way questions like these are best answered by your doctor, and never take any suggestions on your prescription medications, even though i am a medical student. i would suggest you talk to your doctor !
