Microvilli VS Cilia how are they different?

And in what way are they the same?
Answer:
microvilli line epithelia cells to increase surface area in areas where absorption needs to be maximized, such as in the stomach.

cilia are used for mainly locomotion...
Yeh, the person above said it:

Microvilli are found in epithelial cells to increase the surface area for absorbtion.

Cilia are found in the respiratory system purely for the movement of solids (phlemb) up the bronchi, and into the trachea so it can be coughed out.

Both cilia and microvilli have microtubules in them for movement (I think), but microvilli are really only for absorbtion, nothing to do with locomotion.

Hope that helps

Ashley
